About & Masthead
An international weekly published by The Russell Civilizations Review from Dhaka, with bureaus in Singapore and the UAE — read in thirty-four countries and answerable to none of them.
What we publish
The Global Polymath is an English-language weekly — a compact tabloid in the older, more dignified sense of the word — whose beat sits at the intersection of three usually separate conversations: empirical science, human philosophy, and global law. We write for readers who want the arguments assembled in one place, with the seams left visible.
Our print edition appears each Saturday; our Weekly Dispatch, a free email digest, arrives by Friday lunchtime. A small number of long-form essays are released monthly under the Saturday Lyceum imprint; they are, deliberately, the slowest things we do.
Editorial posture
We have institutional opinions — we carry an editorial page, under the byline “The Polymath’s View” — but we avoid polemic. We prefer, when we can, to argue with ourselves in print, and to let our readers listen in.
A note on sources
We cite everything. Every number in our pages can be traced through to a primary source, and every quotation is on the record unless marked otherwise. Where the record is ambiguous, we say so.
A note on voice
This publication’s house style permits the semicolon, the parenthetical, and the occasional Latinism. It forbids the exclamation mark, the cliché, and the business-school verb “to leverage.” Our readers, we assume, are adults.
Founder & Editor-in-Chief
Dr. Mostafa Kamal Russell — engineer, advocate, and polymath — founded the publication in 2012 as a quarterly. It became a weekly in 2018. He continues to edit each issue from Dhaka, with bureau support in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. His personal site is at drrussellmostafakamal.com; his YouTube channel is @EngineersAdvocateMohammedMosta.
